A good fuel is one which :
(i) has high calorific value, i.e., produces large amount of heat on burning completely in air or oxygen.
(ii) produces less smoke on burning,
(iii) has low cost and is easily available,
(iv) has an ignition temperature that is well above the normal temperature.
