For a person. The time-velocity graph is as shown in Fig. 2 (a) .37 (a). Here the areas (A) and (B) are equal but of opposite signs because the bet displacement of the person in going to post-office and coming back is zero.

The time-displacement graph is as shown in Fig. 1 (a) .37 (b). In this grapg, as the velocity of person in going is less than that of return jounrney, hence the slope of portion ` OA` is smsller than that of portion ` BC` because the slope of time-displacement graph gives the velocity.
