Can the direction of velcity of a body change, when accleration is constant?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Yes, when the body moves vertically upwards, after reaching the highest point, the body starts falling down, i.e. the direction of velocity is reversed, wheras the acceleration is constat.

Can the direction of motion of a body change if its velocity is changing at uniform rate ?

Assertion: IF a body moving in a circular path has constant speed, then there is nor foce acting on it. Reason: The direction of the velocity vector of a body moving in a circular path is changing

Assertion : The equation of motion can be applied only if acceleration is along the direction of velocity and is constant. Reason : If the acceleration of a body is constant then its motion is known as uniform motion.

The direction of light can be changed by ______

Assertion : Acceleration of a moving particle can change its direction without any change in direction of velocity. Reason : If the direction of change in velocity vector changes, the direction of acceleration vector also changes.

The weight of a body can be zero when ____acts on it.

Assertion : A body may be accelerated even when it is moving uniformly. Reason : When direction of motion of the body is changing then body may have acceleration
