Two bodies are thrown with the same initial velocity at angles ` theta` and (90^(@)- alpha) with the horixontal. What will bethe ratio of (ii) maximum heights attained by then and (ii) of horizontal ranges ?

Horizontal range, ` R = u^2 /g sin 2 theta`
and Max. height, ` H= (u^2 sin ^2 theta)/ (2 g)`
Case (i) when ` theta alpha,
` R_1 = u^2 /g sinf 2 alpha and H= (u^2 sin 2 theta )/ (2g)
Case (ii) When ` theta =( 90^@ - alpha) ,
`R_2 = (u^2 sin ^2 (90^@-alpha)/g = (u^2 sin 2 alpha)/g`
and ` H_2 = (u^2 sin ^2 (90^@-2)/g = (u^2 cos ^@ alpha)/g`
` :. H_1 /H_2 = (sin ^2 alpha)/(cos^2 alpha) = tan^@ alpha and R_1 /R_2 =1`.
