A Car of mass 1000 kg is moving with a velocity of `10 m // s` under the action of a forward force of `1000 N` and retarding force of 500 N due to friction. Wath be its velocity after 5 seconds ?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Here , ` m = 1000 kg , u = 10 m//s ` Net forward force . `F = 1000 N - 500 N = 500 N `
` upsilon = ? t = 5 s a = (F)/(m) =(500)/(1000) = 0.5 m//s^(2) `
From `upsilon = u + at = 10 + 0.5 xx 5 = 12 . 5 m // s` .
