Is large brake on a bicycle wheel more effective than a small one ? Explain

No the large brake on a bicycle wheel is not more effective than a small one because the force of friction is independent of the surface area of contact . However chances of failure of brake decrease when area of contact is larger Therefore , large brakes are perferred .
