A shot fired from a cannon explodes in air. What will be the changes in the momentum and the kinetic energy?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

There will be no change in linear momentum, but the K.E. will increase. This is because chamical potential energy of the xplosives in the shot is converted into K.E.
