Initial volume of three samples of same ...

Initial volume of three samples of same gas `A, B and C` are same. The process A is adiabatic, B is isobaric and C is isothermal. Each of the sample has same final pressure and volume. The initial pressure of which sample was maximum.

A

`A`

B

`B`

C

`C`

D

Same pressure for all samples

Text Solution

The correct Answer is:
A

`P_AV^(gamma) = P(V+DeltaV)^(gamma) = PV^(gamma)(1+(DeltaV)/(V))^(gamma)`
`P_(A) = P(1+(DeltaV)/(V))^(gamma)`
Also `P_(B) = P`
and `P_cV = P(V+DeltaV) = PV(1+(DeltaV)/(V))`
or `P_c = P(1+(DeltaV)/(V))`
obviouslym `P_(A) gt P_(C) gt P_(B)`.

Three samples of the same gas A,B and C (gamma=3//2) have initially equal volume. Now the volume of each sample is doubled. The process is adiabatic for A. Isobaric for B and isothermal for C. If the final pressures are equal for all three samples, find the ratio of their initial pressures

A diatomic gas undergoes adiabatic compression and its volume reduces to half of initial volume then its final pressure would be if initial pressure of gas is P.

Three samples of the same gas 'x','y' and 'z', for which the ratio of specific heats in gamma=3//2 , have initially the same volume. The volumes of each sample is doubled, by adiabatic process in the case of 'x' by isobaric process in the case of 'y' and by isothermal process in the case of 'z'. If the initial pressures of the samples 'x','y' and 'z' are in the ratio 2sqrt(2):1:2 , then the ratio of theri final pressures is

Three samples A, B and C of the same gas (gamma = 1.5) have equal volumes and temperatures. The volume of each sample is doubled, the process being isothermal for A, adiabtic for B and isobaric for C. If the final pressures are equal for the three samples, Find the ratio of the initial pressures.

Two samples A and B are initaially kept in the same state. The sample A is expanded through an adiabatic process and the sample B through an isothermal process. The final volumes of the samples are the same . The final pressures in A and B are p_A and P_B respectively.

Initial pressure and volume of a gas are P and V respectively. First it is expanded isothermally to volume 4 V and then compressed adiabatically to volume V. The final pressure of gas will be (given gamma=(3)/(2) )

A sample of a monatomic ideal gas is originally at 20^@ C . What is the final temperature of the gas if both the pressure and volume are doubled?

A sample of air is saturated with benezed (vapour pressure = 100 mm Hg at 298 K,750 mmHg pressure. If it is isothermally compressed to one third of its initial volume, the final pressure of the system is
