Assertion : On reducing the value of a gas at constant temperature, the pressure of the gas increase.
Reason : At constant temperature according to Boyle's law, volume is inversely proportional to pressure.

A

If both assertion and reason are true and the reason is correct explanation of the assertion.

B

If both assertion and reason are true but reason is not the correct explanation of assertion.

C

The correct Answer is:
A

According to Boyle's law at constant temperature `P prop 1/V` when the number of molecules increase per unit volume. Because of it more molecules collide on the walls of vessel per second hence number of collisions per second increases therefore, a greater momentum is transferred to the walls of vesseles per second and hence, the pressure of gas increases.
