What volume of water is required to make `0.20N` solution from `1600 mL` of `0.2050N` solution?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Meq. of conc. Slution `=1600xx0.2050=328`
Let after dilution of volume becomes `V mL`
Meq. of dil. Solution`=0.20xxV`
`328=0.20xxV`
`V=1640 mL`
`( :'` Meq. Does not change on dilution)
Thus, volume of water used to prepare `1640 mL` of `0.20N` solution `=1640-1600=40 mL`
