Volume of a tyre 10 litre when inflated ...

Volume of a tyre 10 litre when inflated The tyre is inflated to a pressure of 3atm at `17^(@)C` with air Due to driving the temperature of tyre increases to `47^(@)C`
(a) What would be the pressure at this temperature
(b) How many litre of air measured at `47^(@)C` and pressure of 1 atm should be let out to restore the tyre of `3atm` at `47^(@)C` ? .

Given `V =10` litre, `P =3` atm, `T =290 k`
(a) After driving `V =10` litre, `P =? T =320 K`
`:' (P_(1))/(P_(2)) =(T_(1))/(T_(2))` (at constant `V` of tyre)
`(3)/(P) = (290)/(320)`
`P =3.31atm`
(b) At `47^(@)C`
Now volume is to be taken out so that tyre is left at a pressure this air will occupy `V` litre
`P_(1)V_(1) =P_(2)V_(2)` (temperature is `47^(@)C)`
`:. 0.310 xx 10 = 1 xx V_(2)`
`V_(2) =3.1` litre .
