When would virtual image be produced by convex lens? Why can virtual image be not obtained on a screen?

i. When an object is placed between optical centre and focus of the convex lens, virtual image is produced by the lens.
ii. Virtual image in case of lenses is formed on the opposite side of the screen. Hence, it cannot be drawn on the screen.
