Explain why, a salt which does not conduct electricity in the solid state becomes a good conductor in molten state.

i.In solid state, `Na^+` and `Cl^-` ions of common salt (NaCl) are not free to move.
ii.However, in molten state and its aqueous solution, these ions are free to move.
Thus, common salt (NaCl) conducts electricity only in molten state and its aqueous solution but not in solid , state.
