Determine whether the given points are collinear.
`A (0, 2) , B(1, -0.5), C(2,-3)`

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

`A(0,2),B(1,-0.5)` and `C(2,-3)`
Slope of line `AB=(-0.5-2)/(1-0)=(-2.5)/1=-2.5`
slope of line `BC=(-3-(-0.5))/(2-1)`
`=(-3+(0.5))/1`
`=-2.5/1`
`:.` slope of line `AB=` slope of line BC and B is the common point.
`:.` points A, B and C are collinear.
POints `A(0,2),B(1,-0.5)` and `C(2,-3)` are collinear.
