Prove that: (sin^2theta)/(costheta)+ c...

Prove that:
`(sin^2theta)/(costheta)+ cos theta = sec theta.`

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

LHS`=(sin^2theta)/(costheta)+costheta`
`=(sin^2theta + cos^2theta)/(costheta)`
` = (1)/(costheta)` …(`sin^2theta + cos^2theta = 1`)
`=sectheta` …[`1/(costheta) = sectheta`]
=RHS
`therefore` LHS = RHS
`therefore (sin^2theta)/(costheta)+costheta = sec theta`.
