Mica is a bad conductor of electricity and good conductor of heat.
(2) In an electrie iron, the coil of high resistance Is kept between mica sheets so that there is no electrical contact between the coll and the heavy metal block of the iron though there is heat transfer. Thie protects the user from getting an electric shock.
