What will happen if in a compound microscope , the objective lens is large in size and has a focal length ?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

If the objective lens of a compound microscope is large in size, in addition to the light coming from an ojbect , other unwanted light will be incident on the objective lens. Hence , the image will not be seen clearly. If the objective lens has a large focal length, the magnification produced by it will be less.
