Assertion: A small metal ball is suspended in a uniform magnetic field with the help of an isulated thread. When a high energy `X` rays beam falls on the ball. Then the ball will be defected in the direction of electric field.
Reason: The ball will oscillate in the field.

A

if both Assertion and Reason are true and the Reason is correct explanation of the Assertion.

B

If both Assertion and Reason are true but Reason is not the correct explanation of the Assertion.

C

if Assertion is true, but the Reason is false.

D

if both Assertion and Reason are false

The correct Answer is:
c

We know, that when high energy `X`-rays beam falls on metallic ball, then ball will emit the photoelectrons, so a ball will acquire positive charge because of it the ball will be deflected in the direction of electric field till equilibrium is reached.

A small metal ball is suspended in a uniform electric field with the help of an insulated thread. If high energy X-ray beam falls on the ball, the ball will be deflected in the direction of the field.

Statement-1: A small metal ball is suspended in a uniform electric field with an insulated thread. If high energy X-rays beam falls on the ball, the ball will be declected in the electric field. Statement-2: X-rays emit photoelectrons and metal and metal becomes negatively charged.

When X rays pass through a strong uniform magnetic field. Then they

A hollow metal ball carrying an electric charge produces no electric field at points

Assertion : Magnetic force is always perpendicualr to the magnetic field. Reason : Electric force is along the direction of electric field.

Assertion: X-rays cannot be deflected by electric or magnetic fields . Reason: These are electromagnetic waves.

A 1kg ball is suspended in a uniform electric field with the help of a string fixed to a point. The ball is given a charge sqrt(5) coulomb and the string makes an angle 37^(@) with the vertical in equilibrium position. In the equilibrium positoin the tension is double the weight of the ball. Find the magnitude of the electric field in N//"Coul" .

Assertion: A metal rod is moved perpendicular to the length of rod and uniform magnetic field exits perpendicular to the plane of motion of rod. Electric field is generated along the length of the rod. Reason: When metallic object moves inside magnetic field then free electrons experience force and are moved in the direction of force. Due to redistribution of electrons, electric field is created in the metal.

Assertion: When a magnetic dipole is placed in a non-uniform magnetic field, only a torque acts on the dipole. Reason: Force would also acts on dipole if magnetic field were uniform.
