A unifrom conducting wire `ABC` has a mass of `10g`. A current of `2 A` flows through it. The wire is kept in a unifrom magnetic field `B = 2T`. The accleration of the wire will be

A

Zero

B

`12 ms^(-2)` along y-axis

C

`1.2xx10^(-3) ms^(-2)` along y-axis

D

`0.6xx10^(-3) ms^(-2)` along y-axis

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The correct Answer is:
B

The given curved wire can be treated as a stright wire as shwon

Force acting on the wire `AC,F = Bil = 2xx2xx3xx10^(-2)`
`= 12xx10^(-2) N` along y-axis.
So acceleration of wire `= (F)/(m) = (12xx10^(-2))/(10xx10^(-3)) = 12 m//s^(2)`
