The reaction 2A + B + C rarr D + 2E is ...

The reaction `2A + B + C rarr D + 2E` is found to be first order in `A`, second order in `B` and zero order in `C`.
(a) Write the rate expresison.
(b) What is the effect on rate on increaisng the concentration of `A, B`, and `C` two times ?

(a) Rate `=K[A]^(1)[B]^(2)[C]^(0)`
(b) Let initial conc. Of `A, B` and `C` be a, b, and c mol `litre^(-1)` respectively
Then, Rate `r_(1) =K a^(1) b^(2) c^(0) …(1)`
Now if conc. Of `A, B` and `C` are double, i.e., `2a, 2b` and `2c` respectively, then,
`r_(2)=K(2a)^(1) (2a)^(2) (2c)^(0) ...(2)`
By eqs. (1) and (2), `r_(1)/r_(2)=1/8`
`r_(2)=8r_(1)`
