A reaction is second order with respect to a reaction. How is the rate of reaction affected if the
(a) doubled, (b) reduced to `1//2`?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Given, rate `(r_(0))=K[A]^(2)`
(a) If `[A]` is doubled: `r_(1)=K[2A]^(2)`
`:. r_(1)=4r_(0)`
(b) If `[A]` is reduced to half : `r_(2)=K[A/2]^(2)`
`:. r_(2)=1/4 r_(0)`
