Assertion : An astronaut in an orbiting space station above the earth experience weightlessness.
Reason : An object moving around the earth under the infuence of earth's gravitational force is in a state of 'free fall'

When a space craft is in orbit, then at any point on the orbit, there is some value of the acceleration due to gravity. But the weight of astronaut is used up in providing the necessary centripetal force for the orbital motion.
