Why a spring balance does not give correct measurements when it has been used for a long time?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

When a spring balance has been used for a long time, it starts loosing its elastic strength, i.e., an elastic fatique is developed in the spring of spring balance. The spring of such a balance takes longer time to regai its original configuration. Therefore, such spring balance will not give ac curate measurement.
