Why an oil drop on a hot cup of soup spreads over when the temperature of the soup falls?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The surface tension of oil is more than that of hor soup. Due to it, an oil drop does not spread over the hot soup. When the temperature of the soup falls, the surface tension of oil becomes less than that of soup. Due to it, the oil drop starts spreading on the soup.
