In an emergency, the vacuum brake is used to stop , the high speed train. How does this vacuume brake work?

When vacuume brake is appled to stop the high speed train, the stream at high speed enters the cylinder of vacuum brake. Ac cording to Bernoulli's principle, the pressure in the inturn lifts up the brake. Then the break works are train is stopped.
