The cylindrical tube of a spray pump has radius `R`, one end of which has `n` fine holes, each of radius `r`. If the speed of the liquid in the tube is `V`, the speed of the ejection of the liquid through the holes is:

Area of cross-section of tube. `A = pi R^(2)`, Aera of cross section of each hole = `pi r^(2)`
Let `upsilon` be the speed of ejection of the liquid through each hole. Using equation of contiunity , we have
`pi R^(2)V =(pi r^(2)upsilon)n or upsilon=(V)/(n) (R^2)/(r^2)`.
