At what temperature , If any do the following pairs of scales given the same reading
(a) Celslus and Fahrenhelt?
(b) Fahrenhelt and kelvin?

Text Solution

(a) Let `T_(C) = T_(F) = theta`
`As (T_(C) - 0)/(100) = (T_(F)- 32)/(180)`
`:. (theta - 0)/(100)= (theta - 32)/(180) :. theta = - 40^(@)`
(b) `(T_(F) - 32)/(180) = (T_(K) - 27345)/(100)`
`theta - (32)/(180) = (theta - 27345)/(100) : theta = 574.6^(@)`
