The surface temperature of the hot body ...

The surface temperature of the hot body is `1127^(@)C` find the wavelenght at which it radiates maximum energy. Given Wien's constant = 0.2898 cm K. To which spectrum region this wavelength belongs?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Here, `T = 1127 + 273 = 1400 K`.
`b= 0.2898 cm K`.
from Wien's law,
`lambda_(m) = b/T = (0.2898 cmK)/(1400K) = 2.07 xx 10^(-4) cm`
This wavelength belongs to infreared region of elecromagnetic spectrum.
