Molar volume is the volume occupied by 1...

Molar volume is the volume occupied by 1 mole of any (Ideal) gas at standard temperature and pressure (STP , `0^(@) C`, 1 atmospheric pressure). Show that it is 22.4 litres. Take `R = 8.31 J mol^(-1) K^(-1)`.

For one mole an idaal gas, `PV =RT :. V = (RT)/(P)`
Put `R = 8.31 J "mole"^(-1) K^(-1) , T = 273 K, P= 1 "atmosphere" = 1.013 xx 10^(5)Nm^(-2)`
`V =(8.31 xx 273)/(1.013 xx 10^(5)) = 0.0224 m^(3) = 0.0224 xx 10^(6) c c = 22400 c c = 22.4 "litre"`.
