What would happen to the motion of an oscillating system if the sign of the force term in equation `F=-kx` is changed?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

When the sign iin the force equation is changed, then force and hence acceleration will not be opposite to diplacement. Due to it, the particle will not oscillate but will be accelerated in the direction of displacement. As a result of it, the motino will become a linearly accelerated motion.
