A student plotted the following four graphs representing the variation of velocity of sound in a gas with the pressure P. Which one is correct?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The speed of sound in a gas does not depend upon pressure of the gas, till temperature remains constant, i.e., speed remains the same whatever be the pressure. Therefore, graph (d) is correct.
