Organ pipes are musical instruments which are used for producing musical sound by blowing air into the pipe. Organ pipes are of two types: closed organ pipes are closed at one end and open at the other. Open organ pipes are open at both ends.
The study shows that the overall musical sound produced by an open organ piipe is richer than the musical sound produced by a closed organ pipe.

(i) In an open organ pipe, frequency of fundamental note is `v_(1)=(upsilon)/(2L). ` And all harmonics of frequencies `2v_(1),3v_(1),4v_(1).............` are present iin its musical sound.
In a closed organ pipe, frequency of fundamental note is `v_(1)^(')=(upsilon)/(4L)=(1)/(2)v_(1)`. And only odd harmonics of frequencies `3v_(1)^('), 5v_(1)^('), 7v_(1)^(')...............` are present in its musical sound. The harmonics of even frequencies `2v_(1)^('), 4v_(1)^('), 6v_(1)^(')............` are missing.
That is why overall musical sound produced by an open organ pipe is richer than the musical sound produced by a closed organ pipe.
(ii) In day to day life, a person whose life is an open book, who shares his successes and failures , joys and sorrows etc. with the people in his contact is loved more in society. On the contrary, a person who is secretive and keeps everything close to his chest is not appreciated in the society.
