The consitutent waves of a stationary wa...

The consitutent waves of a stationary wave on a string fixed at two ends are amplitude 6 cm, frequency 50Hz and velocity `80cms^(-1)`. Write down the equation of stationary wave.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Here,`r=6cm, v=50Hz, upsilon=80cms^(-1)`
`T=(1)/(v)=(1)/(50)sec. lambda=(upsilon)/(v)=(80)/(50)=1.6cm`
The equation of stationary wave is
`y=2rsin((2pi)/(lambda))xcos((2pi)/(T))t=12 sin((2pi)/(1.6))xcos((2pi)/(1//50))t`
`y=12 sin 3.925xcos 100pit`
