A magnet 2cm long has a pole strength of...

A magnet `2cm` long has a pole strength of `60Am`. Find the magnitude of magnetic field strength B at a point on its axis at a distance of `20cm` from it. What would be the value of B, if the point were to lie at the same distance on equatorial line of magnet?

Here, `2l=2cm=0*02m`, `m=60Am`, `B=?`, `d=20cm=0*2m`
On axial line, as `lltd`,
`:. B=(mu_0)/(4pi)(2M)/(d^3)=(mu_0)/(4pi)(2xxmxx2l)/(d^3)=(10^-7xx2xx60xx0*02)/((0*2)^3)=3*0xx10^-5T`
At the same distance, on equatorial line, `B_2=1/2B_1`, `:. B_2=1/2xx3*0xx10^-5T=1*5xx10^-5T`
