Effective dipole moment of a paramagneti...

Effective dipole moment of a paramagnetic salt is `4*5 jou l e//tesla` at `4*2K` under magnetic field of `0*8T`. Find magnetic moment at `2*8K`, when magnetic field is `1T`. Assume Curie's Law.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Here, `M_1=4*5J//T, T_1=4*2K, B_1=0*8T`
`M_2=? T_2=2*8K, B_2=1*0T`
According to Curie's Law
`M_2/B_2xxT_2=M_1/B_1xxT_1`
`M_2=M_1/B_1xxT_1/T_2xxB_2=(4*5xx4*2xx1*0)/(0*8xx2*8)=8*437JT^-1`
