We know that magnetic field induction at any point on the axis of a circular coil of n turns each of area A, carrying current I is given by
`B=(mu_0)/(4pi)(2nIA)/(x^3)=(mu_0)/(4pi)(2M)/(x^3)` [From (18)]
where, `nIA=M=` Magnetic dipole moment of the current loop.
Thus the current loop can be regarded as a magnetic dipole which produces its magnetic field and magnetic dipole moment of the current loop is equal to the product of ampere turns and area of current loop. SI unit of magnetic dipole moment is `A-m^2`.
