You are sitting in a room in which uniform magnetic field is present in vertically downward direction. At the centre of room an electron is projected horizontally with a certain speed. Discuss the speed and path of the electron in this field.

The electron is entering a uniform magnetic field `vecB` normally i.e. `theta=90^@`. The force experienced by electron moving with velocity `vecv`, in this magnetic field is `vecF=-e(vecvxxvecB)`. Its direction is perpendicular to `vecv` as well as `vecB`. As a result of it, the path of electron will be circular , such that it revolves clockwise and its speed remains unchanged. The force will provide the necessary centripetal force.
