Explain why earth's magnetic field does not affect the working of a moving coil galvanometer?

In a moving coil galvanometer, the coil is suspended in a very strong uniform magnetic field created by two magnetic pole pieces. The earth's magnetic field is quite weak as compared to that field, hence it can not affect the working of moving coil galvanometer.
