A magnetic field is the space around a magnet or the space around a wire carrying current, in which its magnetic effect can be felt.
A magnetic field may be produced in many ways. For example, (i) by a magnet (ii) by a current carrying conductor (iii) by a moving charge (iv) by a varying electric field. (displacement current)
