Looking downward, an electron appears moving anticlock-wise on a horizontal circle under a magnetic field. What is the direction of the magnetic field?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The motion of electron in anticlock wise direction causes the current in clockwise direction. The magnetic force on the electron is along the radius towards the centre of circle. It will be so if the direction of magnetic field is vertically upwards.
