Why should a voltmeter have a low current carrying capacity?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

A voltmeter should have a low current carrying capacity so that its resistance is high. It draws a very small current from the circuit. Due to it, the potential difference `(V=IR)` to be measured will not be much different from the actual value.
