A deutron and a proton are accelerated by the cyclotron. Can both be accelerated with the same oscillator frequency? Give reason to justify your answer.

Period of revolution of a charged partilce in cyclotron is, `T=(2piM)/(Bq)`
Frequency of revolution of a charged particle in cyclotron is, `v=1/T=(Bq)/(2pim)`
For deutron and a proton, charge q is same but mass m is different, so frequency of revolution of deutron and a proton in cyclotron will be different. Hence they can not be accelerated with the same oscillator frequency.
