From Coulomb's law of magnetism,
`F=(mu_0)/(4pi)(m_1m_2)/(r^2)`
If `m_1=m_2=m, r=1m` and `F=10^-7N`.
Then `10^-7=10^-7(mxxm)/(1^2)`
or `m^2=1` or `m=+-1`
Hence, unit magnetic pole is that pole which when placed in free space at a distance of `1m` from a like pole of same strength would repel it with a force of `10^-7N`.
