Two thin bar magnets of pole strengths 2...

Two thin bar magnets of pole strengths `25Am` and `48Am` respectively and length `0*20m` and `0*25m` respectively are placed at right angles to each other with the N-pole of first angles to each other with the N-pole of first touching the S-pole of the second. Find the magnetic moment of the system.

The correct Answer is:
`13Am^2`

Here, `m_1=25Am`, `2l_1=0*20m`
`m_2=48Am`, `2l_2=0*25m`
`:. M_1=m_1(2l_1)=25xx0*20=5*0Am^2`
`M_2=m_2(2l_2)=48xx0*25=12*0Am^2`
As is clear from figure.

`:.` Magnetic moment of the system

`M=sqrt(M_1^2+M_2^2)=sqrt((5*0)^2+(12*0)^2)`
`=13Am^2`
