A current from A to B is increasing in m...

A current from A to B is increasing in magnitude. What is the direction of induced current. If any,in the loop as shown in the figure?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The current induced in the loop will be clockwise.
According to right hand thumb rule, magnetic field passing through the loop due to current in AB is perpendicular to plane of paper and outward. The direction or current induced in the loop must be clock wise so as to opposethe increase in this field.
