In the a.c. circuit shown in fig, the main supply hs constant voltage but variable frequency. For what frequency will the voltage across the resistance R be maximum ?

The voltage across the resistnce will be maximum, when
`X_(L) = X_(C ) , omega L = (1)/(omega C) , omega = (1)/(sqrt(LC))`
`omega = 2 pi v = (1)/(sqrt(LC)) = (1)/(sqrt((1)/(pi) (10^(-6))/(pi)))`
`= (pi)/(10^(-3)) = 1000 pi`
`v = (1000 pi)/(3 pi) = 500 Hz`
