When a capacitor is connected in series with series LR circuit, the alternating current in the circuit increases. Why ?

In a series LR circuit,
`I = (V)/(Z)` , where `Z = sqrt(R^(2) + X_(L)^(2))`
When a capacitor is connected in series with LR circuit, impedance becomes,
`Z = sqrt(R^(2) + (X_(L) - X_(C ))^(2))`
current, `I' = (v)/(Z')` As `Z' lt Z`, therefore, `I' gt I`
i.e., current increases.
