The core of a transformer is made of mag...

The core of a transformer is made of magnetic material of high permeanbility. Why ?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

When permeanbility of magnetic material of transformer core is high, almost whole of magnetic flux will be linked with the core. Therefore, magnetic flux linked with the secondary coil will almost be equal to the amount of magnetic flux linked with the primary coil. Therefore, energy loss due to leakage of magnetic flux will be reduced considerably.
