A square loop MNOP of side 20 cm is placed horizontally in a uniform magnetic field acting vertically downwards as shown in Fig. The loop is pulled with a constant velocity of `20 cm//s` till it goes out of the field.

(i) As loop goes out of field, magnetic flux through the loop decreases. Applying Lenz's law, the induced current must be along MNOP so as to oppose the decrease in magnetic flux Current in loop will persist till the entire loop goes out of the magneticf field
(ii) As the loop goes out at a constant speed, `phi = BA cos 0^(@) = BA` decreases at a constant rate. The variation in magnetic flux as a function of time is shown in Fig. As `|e| = dphi//dt=` constant, therefore, variation of induced emf with time is as shown in Fig.
