Suppose the initial charge on the capactor in the above question is 6 mC. What is the total energy stored in the capactor intially ? What is the total energy at later time ?

Text Solution

Here, `Q = 6 mC = 6 xx 10^(-3) C, E = ?`
As `E = (Q^(2))/(2C) = ((6 xx 10^(-3)))/(2 xx 30 xx 10^(-6)) :. E = (36)/(60) = 0.6 J`
At later times, energy is shared between C and L, but total energy remains the same, assuming the there in n loss of energy.
